Was this Sprite worth it?

Check out this old SCCA car I saw on Bring A Trailer . It's a beat up old Sprite that actually sold for the asking price. Was it worth it? Here's a link to the Craigslist post.

Poor Bugeye! Whatever possessed someone to hack the rear deck that way for a rollbar? If someone's able to bring this one back to life it will truly be a miracle story.

There were certainly at LEAST two other Bugeye listings on ebay (this one was also listed there!) that were MUCH better deals than this one, went for much less, and weren't butchered like this one!
