It seems it started out as a Cortina GT and was painted up/outfitted to mimic a Lotus version.

The one we owned was plenty quick with the twin-cam.

But the v8 would surprise a few folks when you rev it at the stop light

This one was rehashed on one of the Lotus Cortina forums.It does say that it was built from a GT. I've heard from people who've owned V8 Cortinas,that they are scary-fast,& all that power gets old after a little while. - Doug
