of the "world's worse drivers" in Ct today?

I ask only after spending more time than I'd have wished on 95 going to (and from) the aquarium.

Top prize went to the woman in the silver Versa, who was sitting at 55 (in a posted 65) in the outside lane. When I flashed her to move over, she pointed to the inside lane - clearly expecting me to move over and go round her.

Even my wife, who gets much less annoyed with these idiots than I do thought that was a bit much...

What you do is go around her, then get in front of her & gently slow down while keeping enough power in reserve to move from lane to lane in front of her as she tries to go around you until you get down to about 25 or so....then toss both hands up in the air, shrug & speed off.
 
I had the kid in the car. You didn't think ~I~ wanted to go to the aquarium, did you? I'd rather go diving... Da Missus wasn't impressed with the rate at which we were progressing home as it was. A trick like that would have had her going nuts.

I tell her you're just as dead at 70 as you are at 95, but she doesn't seem to care...
 
That convention is permanent, I think. I went to school in New Haven (grew up in RI) and have done that drive many times. My first experience with bumper-to-bumper at 75 mph... some of every kind of bad driving possible!

Pass carefully on the right, change lanes, leave her in the dust. Hopefully , law enforcement will eventually nab her. Like I said, I am sure you are joking! :nonono:</span></span>
 
If she & I were the only cars on the horizon, I'd do it in a heartbeat! & in Alabama, there are times when you come upon her in the left lane & she's the only vehicle moving for as far as you can see - in both directions!

& the police won't do a thing - its not worth their time, they just go around her.
 
Tony: Yes and I've done the same thing - because I tend to react emotionally. But, this hanging out in the high speed lane is really getting much too common. I know that if you try that in the UK or Europe your in real trouble, either from the law or another driver. I remember back in 2000 when we were on the autopista outside of Rome for the first time. The speed limit was 110 kph and everyone was doing at least 140. I passed a slow car and was in the process of returning to the right hand lane when a red blur appeared on top of me in an instant. Yes, it was a Ferrari testarossa. and it was gone in an instant. Iv'e never been on the autobahn in germany, but I understand it's even worse.

Yes, that's true road-hogs aren't much liked, though it tends to happen. What I find annoying is a long line of cars in the "fast" lane just travelling at the speed limit, alongside a few cars pottering along in the slower lanes, people don't move over as they should to let us speeders pass. :smile: :yesnod: :devilgrin:

That said, there don't seem t obe as many police patrol cars on British motorways as there areonm American highways- but we make up for that with vast numbers of speed cameras.... :cryin:
 
On St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, it is common for drivers to pass on the right, just gotta watch when cars are parked in that space. And doing battle with a Streetcar, you always lose.

I've noticed that drivers in Houston change flats at 55 mph on the 610 Loop.

In Cajun Country, Boudreaux always runs a red light. He does, however, stop when the light is green. His brother may be coming from the other direction.
