Proofreading is a lost art. We see "news" articles just about daily which appear to have been written using cellphones. Syntax and spelling errors point that direction. How it gets past editors is baffling.

My maternal grandmother was a English teacher from the 30s until she retired the end of the 60s and would have been appalled at all the errors that appear in "professional" media these days were she still alive.
