Warmer weather

It's gettin' warmer. Hopefully everyone's mood is gettin' better as well (although the cloud of war is definitely hanging over our heads). I hope to join Gary soon with a completed car. Currently mine is in pieces. I want to drive with the sun on my face!

I've been waitng for some 50-55 degree days to be able to paint the floors before I install the new carpet. Any other winter we always had a few days above 50...but not this winter...well maybe this weekend

Yesterday it was around 70 degrees and sunny. I drove the MG

where I sat inside all day long. It was a beautiful drive home though. I've managed to work out most of my carburation kinks. The car runs a little bit rich, but that seems to be par for the course with late model Midgets.

You guys are spoiled. We hope to get to - 1C today. That's like 30F for you. The last 40 days have been cold.Gosh winter days with the occassional 40 to 50 F would be just plain balmy.Soon as the streets are dry the Lister comes out.

I just warmed up 20 degrees from yesterday. Its been -20C to -40C for the last week. Its still a couple weeks away from driving season.

I agree. The weather here in Mississippi has been awesome the last couple of weekends. Last weekend we got about a 45 minute ride around. During the week I replaced a leaky timing cover and front crank seal gasket. Drove it a bit this weekend.

This week I am going to give her a new oil pan gasket. I'm trying to make the B not mark her spot as much in the garage. It was looking mighty wet underneath.

Gotta save the weeknights for the work so I can enjoy the weekends.

The car runs and drives better than it ever has in the almost 7 years I've had it!

Yeah! It got into the 60's here in PA yesterday...the first time since November

I got the two coats of POR-15 on the floors of Clementine and am ready to insultate (hurry up UPS!) and carpet, then put everthing back in the old girl

While out in the driveway painting, I could help but notice the signs of spring...an old TR3, an MGA and a real clean late MGB went past and waved!

Up here north of Toronto there are a few mounds of snow left to melt before it's driving season, but has been warm the last two days and the mounds (mountains of snow?) may have shrunk a bit though it would be hard to tell. Among other things there is still a little too much salt leftover to safely drive LBC's, unless you want to wreck all your hard work. Saw my first motorbike yesterday, that's a good sign.

The war clouds on the other hand... check out your news this morning and tonight.

Anyway on a lighter note - here in Ontario, the target date (at the latest)for driving season is always mid-to-late April, when the Ancaster British Car Flea Market is held (20th of April this year)

Been real warm here. Went from the 40s one day, the 60s for a week, to nearly 90 for several days. That plus two weeks of off and on rain brought all the leaves out on the trees and most all the flowers are blooming. The orange blossoms have popped too, seems like I smelled orange blossom for nearly all two hours of my drive to and from the car show yesterday.

I’m must admit that I am more than a little jealous. Rained all weekend long, here in San Diego.

I haven’t had my old gal out of the barn in well over a week now.

I thought we were going to be rained out. Last week wasn't bad, but previous to that we had nearly two weeks of rain. I left here yesterday morning around 8:30 in 1/4-mile visibility in fog and heavy mist, and 100ft overcast ceilings. Didn't improve until mid-afternoon. The forecast rains held off until last night so I guess we lucked out.

Follow up to my previous post...

As I was outside chipping leftover ice off the driveway I saw a guy riding a vintage BMW motorbike around the block a couple of times. A very cool sighting!

so much for the tree huggers and global warming!!
its been a real cold winter. i'm thinking of all the goodies i could have bought for my b instead of spending it on fuel oil. i cant wait for it to warm up.

Hi guys

We dont have any of your problems with the cold down here in sunny Perth Western Australia. In fact the weather is hardly ever an issue deciding to go for a spin in the TD. Today is 33 celcius without a cloud in the sky and I shall be taking a run down to the beach for a swim.
Just though I would make you all jealous!!
