Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Hi Dave,

"Thanx" for keeping an eye out for me. I`ve been watching this one on ebay. I`m waiting for a friend to get back to me (Hopefully Today or within the next couple of days - "HI MARV") with some pics & may be able to do something.

Keep on searching folks,

Thanx Again,

Russ

Howdy Peter,

I was wondering if you had the opportunity of checking this TR out? Please keep us posted.

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Hello Dave & Marv,

"Thanx" for the Hds Up Dave. I just emailed him for some pics to see what she looks like (I`m not hoping for the best)! Its obviously going to be a parts car.

"Marv"; I`m not going to do anything until I see the pics of your car! By the sounds of the one in PA (10hrs away for me); It`ll be around for awhile.

Regards, Russ

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

A few weeks ago I ran across a guy in W. Kentucky that has a 54 Long door for sale, I stopped by to look at it, it is missing a few things but it runs and drives. I took some photos of it while I was there.

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Howdy Russ,

Would you please email me the contact info & pics if you have the info? What was he asking & what cond. was she in? Runs & Drives sounds Interesting.

Thanx, Russ

I upload pixs to https://www.flickr.com/photos/17162678@N00/sets/72157622411843469/

What I know about the car, it is missing the 4 vent bonnet, commission plate, TR2 seats everything else seemed to be there. The engine looks to be original with commission # of TS/3859. I saw very little rust if any. “NOT A RUST BUCKET” Long doors and inner sills look very good as do the floorboards did not check spare tire area. I think he was looking for $4000. I’ll PM you my cell #

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Russ, How far are you willing to travel?

Cheers,

Those pictures don't show everything (of course - no way they could!), but it sure looks like a worthy project car to me. Still, "never buy unless you've seen and touched it".

My 2¢.

Boy; The plan is; If its within a 4hr. drive; I`ll probably pick her up. If its beyond that time frame; I`ll probably have someone pick her up for me.

What do you have in mind?

Thanx, Russ

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Hi Russ,

Maybe too far away for you but there are a few listed on the Toronto Triumph Club Website.....

Here is the link.

https://www.torontotriumph.com/html/classifieds-full.shtml

There are 3 of interest...there is one original owner car there with overdrive that has not been driven in 25 years.....there is one fairly expensive restoration project listed....but the one that interested me is the ad a little further down that reads "TR3 Challenge"....sounds like a car to restore plus a parts car and some new parts....If I didn't allready have my own "TR3 Challenge" and had some space in the garage...I would have been all over it!

If you want to pusue any of these, let me know and I might be able to help you out with some pics/info etc.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Re: "WANTED" TR3 PROJECT:

Did you find one yet..

I have a 1960 that I have been collecting parts for..It has a smallmouth TR3 front, hardtop, big bore rebuilt engine , TR4 overdrive. All rust had been removed by cuting or dipping.. New floors, inner fenders and battery box. The frame has been blasted and painted. The thing needs some final body work, primer and paint. Lots of new spare parts for the rebuild. New Moss Leather seats and unknown make of interior.

The car has been setting in the back of my dry garage covered without paint.. It has a little bit of patina on it but is nothing a some metal prep would not clean up.

I have thought about parting her out figuring the hard top and trans and engine should fetch $2-3K alone. The fenders, doors, tub and frame should be equal that..

I need to take some pictures to get some opinions of what is worth.
