Wanted. Seat latch mechanism.

I want to make the passengers seat adjustable the same way as the drivers seat in my 1960 Bugeye. I've got all the tracks but require the latch/slider mechanism. This will be for the Left seat.

Has anyone got one to sell.

Mike

Mike,
You may want to contact him first and see if he can ship to you. I've ordered parts from Europe and they made an exception when I asked.
Good luck, Rut

I had the same thought later on myself and sent a message to the seller. He replied not long ago and said he will ship to me here.

Thanks for the original link.

Mike

Glad to hear it and good luck on your car!

Ashley Hinton makes these. He usually has a pair listed on eBay UK.

Ashley has the tracks/runners but as far as I know not the ones with the latching mechanism. I've bought some other stuff from him recently as a matter of fact.

You are right. My bad. Don't know anyone who makes the latching mechanism.

You're right, Ray. They're as scarce as hens teeth.

Just picked up a full set of rails and tracks on ebay from later Midget. Not sure if they are exact but might be able to fettle them to do the job.

As an aside the track system looks almost identicle to what was in my TR Triumph. Maybe check with the Triumph boys.. I asked our spares man at the TR register if he had any but I was out of luck.

You might also see if there are runners from the hot rod market. They may be cheaper and more convenient. I have seen (and might be able to pull up the information) very low sitting adjustable tracks.

BTW, can I ask why?

My partner is a bit of a stout lass, not as well suited to Sprites as she was to my TR. We want to make the passenger sheet adjustable as well so she can slide it right back to get in then be able to bring it forward to be able to put her feet on the firewall for support during cornering.
