"WANTED": "ORIG. BUGEYE SERVICE MANUAL" & `59 DASH

Hi Folks,

I placed a "WANTED" classified ad several wks ago here on the BCF but "No Responses"???????

I`m looking to buy the "Orig. Austin Healey Sprite Workshop Manual" & "`59 Dashboard" in Exc. Cond. without the hole being cutout for the radio.

I`ve had no response so far; So, I figured I`d post my needs here and see what happens.

Thanx,

Russ

Maybe no-one on the forum has them  ! I check out ebay often and have seen both up for bids there!

Re: "WANTED": "ORIG. BUGEYE SERVICE MANUAL" & `59 DASH

I'm sure that MANY of us don't look at the Classifieds as often as we should.

So, NOT A BAD IDEA to post a message here, as the forums DO get much more activity.

The early dashboards are pretty popular. Some are even installed in the later models.
I, for one, prefer the simple lines of the Mk1 dash.

Doesn't someone make these new?
I looked at Moss, Vic-Brit, and a few others... ...no Mk1 dash panels.
I guess they figure that they aren't subjected to much rust or accident damage. & since they are flat they ought to be pretty easy to replicate.

Keep looking.
One will turn up!

'I check out ebay often and have seen both up for bids there!'

I check ebay for parts, etc., but I never see what you see. Am I looking in the wrong places, just not using the right search format, or what. Where (what catagory) do you go?

Re: "WANTED": "ORIG. BUGEYE SERVICE MANUAL" & `59 DASH

Generally I will look in ebay motors under Vintage car parts, then just do a search using "Austin Healey" for the make and "Sprite" for the model. This generally yields a couple of hundred listings...for a broader search, since Spridgets have so much in common, run the same search, using "MG" and "Midget" for your search!....Good hunting!!

Re: "WANTED": "ORIG. BUGEYE SERVICE MANUAL" & `59 DASH

You can also go to the advanced search (on the main ebay page, not motors) and include overseas listings.
Location > Items located in > Any Country/Region

You'd be AMAZED at the parts that turn up in the UK, Australia, & other places! (Sometimes the shipping is worth it!)

Look at the advanced search commands
Advanced Search Commands
for even more ideas on searching multiple keywords at once!

I've snagged some very nice vintage grill emblems & other regional Sprite & MG items this way!

Good Hunting!

Hi Folks,

I`m on ebay daily. Relative to the books; Thats not a problem. I was just hoping (Wishful Thinking) that someone here would have an "EXTRA" or left-over book for a modest cost. I`ll probably be ord. the book today that I`ve been watching on ebay. Its GBP $18.00 and change + shipping. Thats pretty good.

Relative to a MKI dash; I did find one (Not on Ebay) in CT. Looks pretty good & the seller is asking $175.00. What do you folks think about the cost?

Thanx Again,

Russ
