Wanted: Girling Brake Line Banjos

Hello Folks. I play with a type of British car that is very tough to find original period parts for. That's Cobras made between 1962 and 1967 under the co-operation of Carroll Shelby's company, AC Cars Ltd, and Ford Motor Company. Only 1,002 were built. AC Cars fabricated the chassis but most of the bolt on bits and pieces were parts standard to some other type British car. I am seeking some O.E.M. brake and clutch hydraulic line bronze banjos. I have no idea what other car may have used these but they are pictured under hardware in old Girling catalogs.

Dan,
When you first emailed me, I told you I couldn't help (had never seen such a fitting) and suggested you post your question/pictures on my forum. But that was before I sat on the "throne" and thumbed through the parts catelog of teh 1950 Daimler Special Sports that I recently acquired. It was then (just a few moments ago) that I spotted a fitting for my frnt brakes that looks very similar to the picture you uploaded as an attachment to your post.

Thanks. I just sent him a copy of the form e-mail I have been sending all over the world. Surely, somebody out there remembers seeing this design before. AC Cars did not engineer most of the little bits and pieces, they bought them some place.

Looks similiar to the connections on a midget brake m c, also to the connection on a mga front caliper, altho that has the hose connected

RR64, Give XK's unlimited a call they service the Cobra! also the early Volvos used that fitting---Keoke

I know of them but had not thought of them as a potential old parts source. The cars Shelby offers now does not use 1960s style brake lines.

Jason, there at XK's may be able to give you a local source for them, or they might have adapters to convert to the more curent type hoses. I would check them out.?---Keoke

What is the offset of this banjo? 15 degree or 30 degree?
