Wanted: 2 Fast-idle adjusting screws for HS carb

OK so a while back I did a full strip, clean & reassemble of my carbs - and in the the process lost the two fast-idle adjusting screws, so no choke.

I went down to the local hardware store and spent a while trying to find a matching thread but no luck - it looked like it would be pretty close to a 6-40, if they had such a thing.

Can anyone suggest where I can get a set of these screws, or happen to have a pair they'd be willing to part with?

If no one has some used ones lying around and if they are 6-40, try McMaster-Carr. They have just about every fastener made. You may have to buy more than you need, but they are cheap. The web address is: https://www.mcmaster.com. The only ones I saw were a socket head cap screw instead of a slotted head. You just need to know the exact size before ordering.

That's sort of the catch, knowing the right size. I found a 5-40 that seemed to match the thread count, but the diameter was too small. 6-32 fit the hole and would thread in a bit, but then bound up since the thread count was off.

Ends up that the top throttle adjusting screws are the same as the bottom (missing) fast-idle adjusting screws so I have that as a reference.

Try Home Depot and all the other Hardwares as well.

I've got some old carbs laying around. If you can't find any let me know and I'll drop a couple in the mail to you.

Thanks Jim. If Home Depot doesn't come through (the main place I went to had a big selection including some pretty obscure stuff) I may take you up on that offer!
