wanna buy Craftsman tools?

Growing up in a home that looked to Sears for almost everything, it's tough seeing how far they've fallen. Sad.

Bought a new set of Craftsman ignition wrenches last year to put in another tool box and was very disappointed at the quality. My older set was drop forged, the newer set was stamped out of a sheet and the wrench open end sizes were from 001. to 003 off in size, some would fit a nut and some wouldn't. Garbage!! I have a ton of old Craftsman tools, but refuse to buy any more, their no better than the el_cheapo"s Harbor Freight sells. Last good tool I got was a Snap-on torque reducer, expensive, but quality. Do you mean torque multiplier? If so you can find them used on eBay for $900 to $2500. Tug boat and heavy equipment guys have them. Nice tool but I've never needed one (nor could I afford one if I did).

Sorry for the late response, but yes Tom, torque multiplier! Mine is a 1/2 inch drive in to a 3/4 inch drive out. Can't remember, but I think Snap-ons price was around 4 or 500 bucks. Been a while. Great for breaking loose tractor lugs and re torqueing them. Use to use a 6 foot pipe extension and socket, now I use a standard 1/2 inch breaking bar and the multiplier. Only way the multiplier can be damaged is by using an impact gun on it. :encouragement: PJ
