Wallop!

tell me about it. Driving club "holiday" dinner was scheduled for tonight in Gettysburg. We were fortunate enough to get a postponement date of the 26th. Wind is expected to pick up overnight so tomorrow will be as bad as......Horseheads???

I heard on the TV that there is a danger of some roofs collapseing due to the heavy wet snow. eek!

Yep, shoveling every couple of hours, if I let it get too far ahead I'll never be able to catch up.

We're gettin nuttin Dale. Not a flake in the sky, predictions are it's all going to stay to our south. We may get an inch or two at best.

We had tornado warnings from about 10AM to 8PM. Tho why you'd need to warn tornadoes (or against what) is beyond me.

Mebbe due to th' State Fair bein' underway.

Seems to have worked... didn't see a one.

We don't have the "blizzard" conditions here, but it's darn close. Folks in the oulying areas are having power loss problems, us city slickers in C'ville are warm and cozy, so far . . .

Total is now predicted at about 26" or so. Biggest one since the 1890s when accurate records were begun.

I'm going to get plenty of good, wholesome exercise shovelling my driveway today and tomorrow. In hopes, of course, that the roads will be good by Monday.

Springtime: so close, yet soooooo far away . . . :cryin:

Photo of my front yard, there's actually an asphalt driveway under there, somewhere . . .

Take it easy shoveling snow! Very common source of heart attacks! Don't try to do it all at once. Do a little, rest, do a little...That stuff is heavy and will wear you out fast! Do you have a snow-blower?

I have at least 24 on top of the cars and it's still coming down. My wife's poor 93 Trans Am has been kicked outside to leave room for furniture re-finishing in the garage.

Dulles airport is shut down. We already have had a large industrial building collapse. I can't reveal which one it was yet as it is not public knowledge. The good news is no injuries are reported at this time.

I took these photos at 7am EST. It's now about 4 hrs later and I bet we have another 2 inches or so.
The YARD stick shows 18" if you can't read it.
SOS SOS SOS!

Elliot,

I'm about 1 1/2 hours north of you and we barely got dusted here...Gotta love those mountains...

This is one party you should be happy that you were not invited. What a mess!

No snow blower here, Bas. Generally the winters aren't that bad around here or at least not bad enough to purchase a snow blower. My wife and I were able to knock out the driveway in about two hours. However, I'm now thinkin' about snow blowers a lot more seriously than ever before! :cryin:

You're right about the hazards of snow removal, mighty easy to pull a muscle or strain the back. Luckily, we did neither this time.

Hopefully, the snow storm's over. Maybe . . .

We are supposed to get another 25" tomorrow.

My buddy is up there and keepin' some local latino guys busy w/ shovelin'.

He's spent about $300 so far w/ them.

He has a LOOONG driveway and it's hard work.

Nobody works harder than our friends from south of the border IMO!
