Okay, years ago I used an AOL email address....dropped it so long ago, I didn't realize it was still anywhere on the internet....tonight I wanted to post a message on my local car club's Yahoo group but was told I couldn't because my AOL email address was 'bouncing'....I checked my Yahoo email addresses & the AOL address isn't listed in my account but it is the address that Yahoo says is 'bouncing'...I can't remove it because on 'My Preferences' is doesn't exist.

What can I do?

JEEZ!! How dumb!! The moderator of each group has to 'disenroll' me & ask me to join under my new email address! I really hate Yahoo!
 
I belong to one, and it stinks. We get spam like you wouldn't believe (and it's nonsense-spam too, they're not even selling anything!). Fortunately I use gMail to read it, which filters most of the garbage - but it's still a pain in the neck.

Small clubs should look into google-groups, they're a lot more sane. Maybe not quite as many frills, but a lot more sane.
 
I was able to change my e-mail address over on the Yahoo Group for the Miata Shinsen Version owners...but I am a moderator so that may make a difference.
 
Never signed up for 'em. Went from BBS to Usenet, stayed off the web as a 'participant' 'til BCF and one other car forum. Most sites/groups are aught but SPAM generators.
 
Thats kind of the way usenet is anymore, unfortunately...I really used to like it.

I said it before, I'll say it again: if you're stuck with a yahoo group, try to interact with it using a gmail email account. Gmail puts everything into threads (unless someone decides to change the subject of their reply), and still filters the spam.
