LOL!!

1962 VW Bus with Porsche 993BiTurbo 500 HP engine. About 1/2 way into the video, there is a chase-video from another car following it. (click on picture for video)

1962 VW Bus at Spa race track

sweet - I'd had to be passed by a bus though.

just went to the website - go check out the gallery - the work and quality of the work is staggering

BTW I remember reading in Road & Track years ago of a Rabbit with a Porsche engine - same thing - widened the car and took it on the Autobahn. Sigh - so many dreams, so litlle money, so little talent

A friend of mine summed up driving
a stock Microbus in traffic -
- "You're racing....but no one else is aware of it!".

I believe that the beetle had a 928 slipped under it.

Wow! Wouldn't that pop your bubble, looking in the rear view of your super slick and seeing that box on your tail and even passing you! Probably wouldn't make your day.

Like being in a Jag and getting passed by a Model "T".

Without a doubt that has to be the wierdest driving position for a racer! What a rush!!!

Yikes.

Last engine I did before we closed up shop was an older 930 Turbo mill. Wish I could find th' photos of that thing. Great fun puttin' that lump together.

WOW! Neat build!! I didn't even realize 'til the end that it was built to carry passengers  ! How neat is that for the "arm-chair racer"!!

It's amazing how that thing corners! Although I'd not want to see the results of a crash. especially front end into the wall.

That's gotta be weird seeing that come up
behind you at speed!
Weird!Strange!Totally "out there".
I Love it!!!
I wonder how many "racers" crashed,
trying to stay ahead of it?

- Doug
