The Vintage Triumph Register National Convention combined with Triumphest concluded this weekend in San Luis Obispo, CA. and was a huge success with 285 registrations and over 400 people. There were numerous events, sponsors and vendors to keep all occupied.
In addition to the normal Triumphest events there was also a VTR Concours for the Q-tip and toothbrush types and a TSD rally set up by the former Great Race Rallymaster.
Next year Triumphest will be in Del Mar, CA and the National Convention in Jekyl Island, GA.

Great to hear Bob, congratulations on the attendance. I know a ton of hard work must have gone into pull this off.

My Wife and I were there, Lots of beautiful cars. My wife fell in love with a 64 spit. Does any body have a 63 -67 spit that is for sale?

Sounds like fun maybe we could find something between CA and GA

Sorry, din't mean to scream.

Subtle, there, Don. :smirk:

So I take it that triumphfest is a CA thing. And Breckenridge sounds great a little closer and I love it there.

Billings to Breckenridge, 585 miles no Interstate. hmmmmm

Eric, Triumphest is hosted by five different clubs and a rotating basis. The clubs generally do the event in the general area of their home base, but that also is far reaching. The Clubs are the Triumph Register of Southern California (TRSC, LA area), the Southern California Triumph Owners Association, (SCTOA, LA area), Triumph Travellers Sports Car Club (TTSCC, Northern Ca.), The Triumph Sports Car Club of San Diego (TSCCSD), and Desert Center Triumph Register of America (DCTRA, Phoenix, AZ.)
The VTR National Convention, which might also be called the North American Triumph Challenge, is hosted by a chapter of VTR that has volunteered to do the event. VTR tries to move it around the country so that all areas have the event but that is also influenced by who volunteers to so it.

Triumphest is a group of five Triumph clubs, that share the hosting. Two years ago it was in Laughlin NV and 2008 in Lake Tahoe.
Yes, it was a good time. Thanks to all for the time and energy spent.
Our car made the journey with out any problems- an uneventful trip. But the scenery was terrific and the weather cool. My wife is so pleased with the funcours award. It is humbling to see the other cars in the award class.
I still like having the cars parked by class rather than across the parking area.

So ... ah Bob ....

You never did buy me that beer for our little informal bet that you would easily break 250 registrants by Friday evening.

Total was 284 and probably over 300 triumphs at the Funcours and surrounding parking lot??

Care to guess how many showed up from across North America for the TTA Gran Finale?

Great work, great show!!
