Did they announce the location of VTR 2008? For those of us who missed out on this years ,it would be nice to dream about attending next year! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ypsilanti, Michigan. Keynoter will be B.S. Levy, and the Spinal Tappets will give their farewell tour!

August 4-8, I think. We're planning on it.

Hey Mickey,
I just looked at the registration form and the dates are August 5-8, 2008.
They are also going to rebuild a Spitfire in 48 hours!

So what's the big deal? Back in 1959 and 1960, a team of five Triumph employees could build a Triumph Herald and drive it away in about three minutes! (True...look it up!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif

Ypsilanti....I'll be there.

(That announcement should keep attendance down!)

It's happened before, and might happen again.

I could tell you more, but I'd have to shoot you afterwards.

Does the West coast exist in VTR world?
Yes, it does! However, hosts for VTR's annual conventions are invariably chosen from amongst proposals by local Chapters. In past years, VTR Conventions have been as far West as Portland, OR, and the Seattle area of Washington. But VTR does not dictate where any year's convention MUST be held, and the national organization is not primarily involved in the hosting.

Most of the Western and Southwestern VTR Chapters and their members seem to prefer Triumphest as their annual big Triumph meet of choice...and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!

Absolutely. As Andy correctly pointed out, the locations of the National convention is selected from proposals made by VTR chapters. You may want to ask your club, if they are a chapter of VTR, to consider hosting one. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif There are two proposals for 2009 on the table, it's not too late to get another in. Expect an announcement in September or October re the 2009 location. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif

Getting carried away with the smileys here, but I'll definitely drive from Detroit if one ends up on the West coast. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif I figure if Herman can drive to Philly in his car, I can go from Detroit to CA, OR, or WA in mine!

In the meantime, the flyer for 2008 is at NATC2008 web page.

Cheers,
Blake
