For some comparison.
Left to right: KN,VTO,VTO.
The 185x55x15s are just a snick taller and thinner
compared to the 185x60x14s. Both are 5.5 width.
The B has 175x70x14s. 5.5 width VTOs. Uniroyal Tigerpaws.
The KN has Bridgestone Potenzas.
The Retro 4 has Dunlop Z1.
Amazingly close all around.
Thanks Hap. The weight difference between the knock off
Minotaur and the VTO was very appreciable when I had to remove the KN wheel (a spare) off the wall. It ain't even close.
Love the wheels.

Looks nice.

Those Dunlops look like the side wall "balloons" out a bit. Do you have a width at the widest part of the sidewall? (Lay it on the ground, put a flat board across it and measure/average.)

Well, I was going slap 'em on Mimi today but the wife wants to go shopping and then she wants Miss B washed and waxed today.
The sacrifices we make.
I don't see a battle of the bulge with suspension problem. Nice fit on 5.5. I think 6 would the limit. Anyway I will test fit
etc soon.

On the rear, that bulge may be very close to a spring clamp. Or do you have composite springs?

On closed rear arch cars with the 14x5.5 wheel on the Spridget I would recommend 175/65/14, and the RWA cars should be fine with 185/60/14. We run 18560/13 on the vintage race cars and they clear the rear leaf springs fine, and the race tire bulge a bit as well.

Of course you post this today......it's pay day and I have a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket! I was going to order some Speedwell suspension goodies, but free shipping on these wheels takes the checkered flag. I can wait a couple more weeks to get the other stuff.

I'll take a set of black classic 8's in 13x5.5 please (my Bugeye will be so happy!). PM being sent shortly.

I drive it pretty hard and the 185x55x15 never touched the springs.
The springs I'm using aren't composite but they are aftermarket
competition with altered spring rate. Don't know how that compares to stock set up.
In any event sometime next week I'm test fitting while the car
is STILL at the paint/body shop.
Here's a pic I lifted from Tad's website where the work on Mimi
is being documented.

Had I not just bought another car (and if everything didn't need some work)... that's a good deal on some great wheels.
