Looked like a 240 wagon with big wheels, extreme camber, little ground clearance, big exhaust and fancy paint. It passed me on the road so I didn't get a chance for a picture. Unusual I think, even for Maine. I couldn't find another example on the internet with US plates although there were several in Europe. Here's one of those:
