Voltage stablizer question

My 76 B came with a bad V/S . Stuck a working one in its place and it went bad. Stuck another good one in and the gauges don't always read correct. I have one left but haven't put it in yet. Any one know what can make them fail or were the ones I put in an hour or two from their way out?

Have you made sure it has a good ground connection? Have you checked the voltage input and output? Is it correctly orientated? Are all the connections clean and secure?

That's about the only reason you'd have consistent failures like this. Don't waste the last one 'til you've cleaned and re-snugged connectors.

Make sure your alternators voltage regulator isn't putting out to much voltage. PJ
