In a radio address to the Commonwealth in 1947, she said "I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service."

Many would say that she has been doing exactly that.

My brother and I each have set of coins that our dad got us. They were minted specifically for the Queen’s coronation in 1953.
