Vintage Tractor Parts - Source?

I'm looking for somewhere to buy a 60's Lucas generator for tractor, industrial or agricultural purposes. They are identical to the regular Lucas units found in cars like MGA / early MGB except for the rear plate.

Any ideas or sources?

By identical, do you mean that the generator is a C 40 model? Are you completely lacking a generator, or ????

At risk of sounding flippant, you might try a well-established tractor dealer that does or did handle Massey-Ferguson and/or similar tractors. At least they might be able to provide leads.

As Andy suggested Massey Ferguson Ag tractor dealer would be my best bet. There's a Massey dealer here in Shelton CT. Al Prestons Garage. Ask for Gary Preston he use to buy and rebuild all the 60's - 70's vintage LCG tractors and resell them to the golf course guys around here. If you want need the phone number I can forward it to you on Monday when I get back to work.

I believe they were C40xxx units, yes. All I really need is the backplate. The difference is that the backplate on the industrial units has a bearing, where the standard units have a bushing. I'd take a complete generator if I could find it, but the backplates are supposedly interchangeable.

I'll look around for a place that deals with Massey parts. Thanks!

Give Sam Lewis at Chino Welding & Assembly a call @ 909-597-4716. When we had our farm in So. Cal Sam was the man for Massey tractor parts.

I recall seeing one of these Lucas generators on a brand-new Ford 3-cylinder gas-powered tractor built in the late 60s. So a Ford tractor dealer may also be able to help.

Sort of on-topic, I'll be at Summit Point, WV next weekend and the track owner (Bill Scott) has a nice collection of Porsche tractors. Here's just some (below):

Bill displays the nicer ones in front of his farm home for the October Hunt Country Classic car show. I believe he recently had major hip replacement/surgery and hope he's recovering nicely.
