Vintage Boat Show tomorrow - Fox Lake, IL

Country flag
Offline
Looking for something different to do tomorrow? The Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society is having a show tomorrow from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The location is “Famous Freddies” on Pistakee Lake. 510 Park Ave, Fox Lake, IL. I'll be there with my boat, a 1957 Glasspar Club Lido. If you go, please stop by and say Hi.

silvergost, those antique boat shows are lots of fun, i love "wooden" boats, and owned a couple, the craftsmanship, s.s. fittings, the engines with thier "bass-o-prafoondo" melody of the inboards, they are beautiful, theres a guy here in stmf. ct. that buys and restores some really old funky looking fiberglass boats, the type that had them big fins and strange attemps at an "ultra modern" design that youd expect batman to have used, i dont think many people know that donald healey put out a line of boats, one can view some of them by searching "healey boats", enjoy the show. :savewave:

Wear th' fox hat.

Slight thread hijack.

On another forum that I hang out on, I had posted pictures showing a comparison of a modern car dash and interior compared to our TR4. One response I got was, "Wow it looks like a Chris Craft" as the wooden dash reminded him of it. I had to look it up to find out that it's an old boat.

doc, the event is being held at "famous freddies" on "Pistakee" lake this year because the place its usually held "joey t's" has burned down, its just down the road from there, no joshin man, just down the road. id like to shake the hand of the guy they named that lake after.. ah,... maybe not.
