Just was made aware of today's significance. Big salute and thank-you to all who served.

Somehow this post got past me. I am not unhappy that, even though I joined while the war was still going on and was told I would probably go, I ended up not going. (LIke I said, I'm not unhappy about that). My dad served in WWII, then had a 16 year break in service, rejoined, and ended up doing two tours in VN. One thing I remember about him going to Nam was how much weight he lost. When he came home he was skin and bone.

I know we have several members here who did tours over there - I'll echo your sentiment - big salute to all of them!

I had a really high draft number (in '74),& since I had a good job,
I had no desire to go into the military.
Thanks to all who served!

Yes, my thanks also to you Nam vets. I guess I was lucky. I got out of Army in '60 and missed all that. I did have 2 brothers-in-law and several friends who went.

My job was to "Document the Air Force Mission". 1361st, 1365th and 601st Photo Squadrons. Did it both from aircraft and on the floor, around the planet, from '70 to '74 including a good portion of all South East Asia.

A heartfelt "Welcome Home" to all my fellow veterans.
