Videos from my first-ever race weekend at Watkins Glen!

This is a few laps from my first time ever on-track at Watkins Glen, and it was awesome! I spent most of the session learning lines and trying to get used to the (very fast) Ginetta G4, but got my time down into the 2:18s which accidentally qualified me 5th!

More to come!

Excellent! You were doing about 20 seconds a lap better than me :friendly_wink:

All my videos and photos from the weekend are ~HERE~

For some reason, we didn't get too many shots of the big-bore/fastest class....I only see one shot of your car (below). I'm sure Bill S. has more.

My first official lap at The Glen was in 2002 (although I've been attending races there since '68). I think I have about 1700 miles of track time there (about 500 laps).

500 laps! That's awesome! It was fun being on the other side of the pit wall for once. I always get a little jealous of the guys when they drive, but the Glen is such a historic track and it looked like an entertaining challenge.

Here are some laps from Dad's big-bore qualifying race on Friday. It was his only time in the car for the weekend, but he still managed fourth overall and a lap time in the 2:13s!

P.S. If you have any tips for cleaning up the audio buzz a little, please let me know! I can implement it for the last two videos from this past weekend.

Here's video of what was going to be my first-ever race in the Ginetta G4. Unfortunately, a large, multi-car incident on lap 1 ended the race quickly.

This was the morning after my last posted video, and my first full race in the Ginetta. The track was just above freezing and the sun was low, so grip was low and visibility sometimes dropped to zero. I dropped my time almost two seconds and missed the win by half a second!

I tried some new text "commentary" throughout this video, so please let me know if it helped or hurt things!
