Well, just to put my Polyanna spin on things, frankly, I think we're pretty fortunate just to have some vendors interested in supplying bits for our dinosaurs!

Generally speaking I agree with you however I'd have to say that when/if you gets parts that either simply don't fit or don't work or cannot be relied upon to give a reasonable duty cycle then your only marginally better off then not having the part at all.
Note: That's not in reference to any specific supplier just a general reply to your post.

Yes, I think it's good they do it but I'm sure they would not still be doing it if there was not a living to be made from it.

For those who live in the same Country as the retailer
If it's any comfort Mychael, I feel your pain. There are basically no retailers in the US that handle Stag parts; and returning them to the UK gets rather expensive rather quick.

But fortunately we do have choices, and my personal experience has been that some vendors do significantly better than others at usually supplying a good part at a good price.

Agreed, There is one USA Vendor that has not disappointed so far in anything I've bought, he keeps my Roadster running.
The Major Uk supplier whilst carrying a lot of stuff has been extremely inconsistent as per my review in the vendor section.

What I try these days is to either have cottage industry places re-produce something for me or go to a place that specialises in only one thing like water pumps or wiring looms.
If I could just find someone who could make boot and bonnet hinges.

There are a couple a small specialist places in the UK that whislt very expensive by comparison do market stuff that simply works. Even then I've found some things I can get done locally cheaper then buying but you've got to hunt around and know the right people.
