I drive an 07 Elantra and my wheel shakes when i accelerate, then it kind of stops shaking 3 minutes later. then when i slow down and accelerate again it continues to shake. any suggestions/comments?

check the tyres very carefully for ballooning,though this usually shows up more when you are going slow and evens out as you go faster.Vibration under acceleration is usually due to either weak or broken engine/gearbox mounting or worn or damaged suspension bushes

I had a similar problem and it turned out the tires were out of round. it was very pronounced at lower speeds - less so at higher. I've also had problems with the belts in the tires move causing huge shimmy. perhaps switching tires back to front could be a way to check

Tires with a separation wouldn't change characteristics of the vibration on throttle transition. Speed, yes. Vibration frequency would alter but not diminish on throttle off.

Auto transmisions on some cars with very small engines will sometimes slip and stutter under medium to hard acceleration. My hyundai does.

Have someone check the INNER CV joints Bad outers will make noise/vibration when turning mostly, but the inners can strike anytime. If they were not greased well enough when assembled, they can cause all sorts of very hard to pin down vibrations, shakes noise etc.
