Vibration at 35mph - cause, thoughts, HELP?

I saw some chatter a few years ago about getting some of those made so that we could use the wheels built for a Miata. It would be nice to be able to choose something other than Minilight/Panasport eight spoke type wheels. I've been looking-hoping to find such a thing for YEARS..... Count me as interested.

Shouldn't be too hard to find the right ones as several thicknesses are avalible. What's the backspacing of Miata wheels, how much further they gotta be out?

Following sizes avalible"

10mm,15, 20, 25, 38, 50

5/8", 1", 1.5", 2"

Depending on brand and size, about $100-$175 shipped.

These are gonna have the 12mm holes so biggest problem will be finding lug nuts to work properly. The early BE steel wheel lug nuts should work.

Depends what kink of hubs they have for their machine.

Regular cone set up should work fine w/ these. Never seen any that wouldn't, least not around here.

Re: Vibration at 35mph - FIXED!!

I just put in the nicely balanced (and straightened) drive-shaft today and took her for a spin. It's amazing! I finally got the puppy up to 60 with minimal vibration. Probably could be smoother, but I'm not gonna complain. It's been one year and 3 months in the building and I finally feel confident driving it. I really want to thank all you guys for your input and support on getting me this far. Especially BillM, Rich Ball, Rick B and the other NW guys that pitched in throughout the process. I have a few little things to tweak and she'll be solid. I can't wait to tear it all apart and put in the 5 speed.... nah, I'll enjoy it for a while first. Thanks, guys!
