Veyron For Sale - One Careful Owner?

He should have kept his foot in it. probably would have skipped across the pond and stayed afloat.

OH...... those low flying pelicans

Saw the video of them pulling it out of the water on another site....funny when the wrecker operator washed his hands in a mud puddle before touching steering wheel.

I like that the car was in gear the whole time. I guess they can't figure how to get them furin cars out of gear.

I just got the willies when the guy hands bob the tow truck pilot that hook with the chain on it.
Putting a death grip on wheel dragging it back from the deep.

The car should have that I just came back from the beach smell starting to come out of that beautiful leather interior as it shrinks and the stitches pop before our very eyes.
That is as sad as that on less 10000hp car in the world as I do not think we will ever see
another made.
What a moron Pelicans …………

I don't think that was the case. It looked to me like the moron tow truck driver looped the tow cable through the wheel rim.

My guess is that the tow truck driver didn't care...... loaded it up... dropped it off... went and had a beer with his buddies and laughed about the guy with the expensive car......

And now you can watch it going into the lake as well:

Warning, the dude running the camera shouts a particular 4-letter word repeatedly as the car goes in, so you may want to turn off the sound.

Amazing...there are cameras everywhere nowadays!!!

i didnt see no pelican...

I cant believe he just drove it in at what? 40 MPH?
Holy bozo the biggest brakes and best handling car in the world and he just drove it in like he was on an exit ramp. Un beliveable :wall:
He had so many options to get it out of that situation this is really an example of money will never make you a better driver just a bigger fool.

How much do you want to bet he was tweeting or texting?

I'm betting that thing is already on a plane & back at the factory for refurbishing!

Remarkable. Both the driving and the fact that it was all caught on film (complete with informative commentary!).

As a bit of an aside - has anyone else noticed that with the advent of camera phones and super cheap video cameras, thet UFO and alien sightings have gone way down? Back in the '80s seems like everyone had a UFO story to tell, but now that we all carry a camera in our pockets, and could actually take a picture of these little green men and their craft, they have all vanished! (Or perhaps that is all just part of their plan). Just wondering aloud.

Rob.

Not many other places to hook a line to to tow it out of the water. If I was that tow truck driver I wouldn't wast much time laying in that water feeling for a better place to hook to. Especially as it is would probably be well under the car. Water, mud, wet grass, not exactly high coefficient of friction surfaces either. The wheel is probably just fine, it can support 1000hp and the stress of a 4,000lb car at 254 mph. having to possibly buy a new wheel is also pretty far down on the list of worries for that car. aside from the interior damage, I also heard that when the owner/driver got out of the car he left the engine running and admitted that it ran for about 15 minutes before "it shut off all by itself". If he hydrolocked that 8.0 litre, quad turbocharged W16, that will be one very hefty repair bill.

Those cars are also all wheel drive. The front wheel was rolling as they were pulling so it was not in gear.
