Ventura GT ???

Anyone know anything about these cars? My Mother's neighbor has one on jack stands and it looks to be built in the mid 80's, headlights that come out of a large rubber bumper and a sloping nose. Looks Italian but not sure, cant even find it on the web.

could it be VW powered ?
if so then it was made in brazil,
fiberglass body on VW chassis

Other than a Pontiac Ventura...easy to mistake for an Olds Apollo or Chevy Nova...but not anything Italian, I have no idea what it could be.

Is it a Vetta Ventura? That was made by the Vanguard Motors Co(Dallas) in the mid 60s (like 1964-66.) It was basically a coupe version of the Apollo, both of which used Buick V8s.

It looked much like a Ferrari -- somewhere between a 250GT LWB and a 275 GTB. Very nice looking.

Its a Vauxhall, most likely.
This was their large family car after the Vauxhall Cresta and before the Carlton. It should have a 3.3 litre in-line six, and was produced after General Motors owned both Vauxhall in England, and Opel, in Germany, so there may be some parts in common.
The styling is a bit Italian, perhaps a styling house like Bertone or Pininfarina was contracted to do some work on it. You may find more info with a search engine, but include "car" or you may get Vauxhall Bridge!

This car wished it looked like the Vetta Ventura. Maybe if they kept produceing them into the late 70's and 80's and lost a little class/style. I now have some pictures of it and I'll post them as soon as I figure out how.
