Saw these air-cooled VWs at a place in Wayneboro PA last weekend. There was also a fairly nice red Kombi pickup (later in the day), but I missed a photo of it.

I love the pickup! Very cool stuff.

I could see myself getting involved with old VWs some day. There's something appealing about them. Would make a nice match for my old BMW R75/5
 
Easy to get hooked on those cars. They can be made to be very quick and can look very good.

No, but the telephone number of the place is in the background of the photo. And I agree....I think it's neat too.

We just have a row boat at our lake house, but honestly I'd like a ~patio boat~

The boat was designed so that you can also use it while it's on the trailer as a camper. There are built in steps that fold down out of the transom to give access while on land. Innovative thinking for the day!
 
I stored one of those single cab pickups for a guy.
I drove it accross town to our house.I was pretty impressed
with how it drove.Very practical vehicle.

I drove a '65 single-cab P/U for twelve years. And, at the same time rode a '65 BMW R69S -- yes, they do go together well.

To call it a "very practical vehicle" just doesn't even begin to cover what a cool thing those are. I will never again have a ute that will be as utile as that one was. And easy to work on. And cheap to run too.
