Valve Cover Studs

Hello all,
Trying to put my original steel valve cover back on my 100M as I prepare it to show in a Concours. Currently has the alloy cover installed and the studs to hold it in place are approx 3.5 inches total length ( including threads) which makes them too tall for the shorter steel valve cover. Studs sold by Moss are only the taller 3.5 inch tall ones so no good there. Apparently I need about a 3 + inch tall stud, maybe a bit taller. Anyone know ? Hilton Head Concours on Nov 1st so still have a few weeks to make the simple switch but what I thought was an easy switch, turns out is not one.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

The original studs are shown on Autofarm's website. About $10 each. Their part number: EN4503. Factory number: 2K7974.

Do the alloy covers use the same cap nuts (1B2463), neoprene bushes (6K891) and cup washers (1B2462)?

Cheers,

Thanks Bob ! The alloy covers use a polished chrome version of the same cap nuts, etc. so have those all set to go.

Well, I did determine that the correct studs are 3.5 inches tall so the used steel valve cover I bought some years ago may not be from a BN1/BN2 as it is definitely too shallow for the 3.5 total length stud (including threads). Must be from another 4 cyl Brit engine but looks correct. Maybe I can display it with the installed alloy cover so the judges can see I have one - just kidding !
