TR2/3/3A Valuing my TR3...

Kerry -

Ebay's a gamble. When I sold my '57 TR3, I put a "reasonable" reserve on it, hoping, of course, to get more. The bidding ended just over my reserve, at a bit over $15.5k. Was it worth more? Of course! But I needed to sell it, and hopefully it's new owners in California are enjoying it as I did.

I could second-guess my efforts all day long, but why? All in all, though I didn't get what I thought it was worth, it did sell and I've moved on.

Hi Kerry:

Followed your auction on ebay. To bad you couldn't get it to where you wanted it. However I really don't feel that summer is the best time to sell. I have been following TR auctions for about 5 years now, mostly for parts, and during the summer I will see 200 to 250 items, after labor day that number jumps to upwards of 500 including cars. Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

Love the windscreens by the way.

Regards, Tinkerman

I have always been sceptical of a car purchase from Canada. I would go way out of my way with explaination of what all is involved with selling to a US buyer to eliminate that question in a buyers mind.
