A friend of mine has a line on a BJ7 that is original except for the paint job. So the engine bay, frame and other spots now are black where the outside is the gold color that got popular a few years ago. Body appears sound, the rest of the car is ok, looks line it is original. I am guessing that the range for the car is probably $18-29K? Any opinions?

I went to see the car today. Original, not much done to it. Engine has been painted orange so it has been out of the car. Originally Black but now Gold. Paint has rust showing through. Surface rust only on the frame. Interior and much of the Chrome needs work. It is restorable, now just calculating the cost to fix and what it is worth.

Does it start, stop, steer? All systems need going through? Driver or resurrection project?

p.s. is the car off of old auburn road?

From your description, it sounds like it's not in as good shape as first described and actually needs quite a bit of work. More like a restoration project than a car ready to be driven. BJ7s don't command the same prices as the BJ8s It's a wild guess without seeing a picture, but I'd be thinking more like offering $10k Trouble is, a BJ7 will cost about the same to restore as a BJ8, so it's harder to come out ahead on a BJ7 restoration.
