Value of Healey BJ8 overdrive?

I've got a spare overdrive for my BJ8. Bought it as a
spare long ago. Its the later version (22/3009/001512).
Someone is trying to buy it from me, and I have no
idea what they are going for these days. None have sold
on e-bay lately, so that wasn't any help. Can anyone
give me a ballpark figure? TIA

Hi Steve,
This is a tough call. If the buyer could be positive that the OD had recently been run in a car, worked perfectly, made no strange noises, & showed no metal particles in the oil, you could probably get around $900.

If there is a possibility that it will need work, it would be considered a parts unit for around $300 to $400.

It all depends on what risks a buyer is willing to take. An iron clad money back guarantee by you might help. Just my guess on prices.

Steve,
I don't know if this helps but I had to find a replacement for mine last year when it disintegrated on me and my mechanic found a rebuilt one for $1000. It did carry a year warranty so I went with it. Sight unseen and no guarranty on the condition should lower the price significantly.
