Value of 100-4 heater box??

Since my car is heavily modified, I am considering replacing the heater box with a more modern unit from vintage air. Someone told me the 100-4 series heater boxes are fairly valuable. I checked ebay for recent sales, but the only ones that pop up are for 3000 series. Mine is complete and functional. Anybody have a clue about what it might be worth, if anything?

Thanks

Yeah, a pressure tested core with what appear to be bent tubes just went for $130...

I was looking for one a couple years ago. A really nice (complete) one sold on ebay for ~$800. Shortly after someone listed a "fully restored" one for $1000 buy-it-now and it kept getting bid to the $500-$600 range and didn't meet reserve. One thing I don't remember about this "fully restored" one is if it had a new core in it. The new cores' fins don't look anything like the original so maybe it was getting dinged for that.

I got really lucky when my Dad found the original one for my car in a box buried in his attic so I stopped looking. Sorry I don't have more current info, but at least that's an idea.

Later,
Wally
