Vacuum line fittings?

Anybody got any ideas on where I could locate some vacuum line fittings like you press into a manifold. I'm looking to add some to my custom intake but can't locate a source.

Both VB and Moss show'em as N/A in their parts catalogs.

Any ideas?

Ok after doing some searching I guess that the true name of these fittings are also called "vacuum nipples" - maybe that'll get somebody's attention.

I'll take the threaded type or a pressed in fitting.

Dorman is the parts supplier, just about any and every true parts house has them in stock.

Here's what I'm looking for guys.

I got this off of one of my old Stromberg carbs.

Oh & heres what it's going to be used on.

Now I can use the one pictured, but I'm trying to document parts & sources for anyone foolish enough to follow in my footsteps.

Only problem now is I noticed that nobody sells that pressed in 90dig elbo for for the gulp valve. I guess I'm going to need a source for a preplacment for that too. Probably going to use something that threads-in like the vacuum fitting. I always thought that pressed in elbo was a weak link and actually used some JB Weld to secure my old leaky one in place. No more leaks after that, but I suspect it'll put up a fight if I want to remove it from my old cast iron manifold for re-use with the new design.

Some just told me they're called "hose barbs" sounds good I'll start doing some searches.

BTW who else thinks "Vacuum Nipple" sounds better? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I pick those up at Lowe's or ACE Hardware, depending on which part of town I am in when the mood strikes me. The fitting in the picture looks like a 1/8 NPT to 1/4 hose barb. I use one for map signal in my own EFI conversion.

I've purchased them at the Depot plenty of times back in my plumbing days.

Try https://www.mcmastercarr.com catalog page 249, any think you would ever want in a NPT - barbed hose fitting. I have some good resourses here in my home town, but when I can't get it local, or can't find it anywhere else, McMaster Carr is the place, I'm yet to stump them on anything I ever wanted, whether it be fillster screws, brass round stock or EDM plugs, these folks have came through everytime I needed something a little out of the norm.
