Does anyone have a picture of the correct routing of the copper vacum advance line on a 1098, I don't see one in Horler and I would like to make this right. A drawing will also work.

thank you,

Mark

The advance line from the carbs crosses to the driver's side (LHD) of the valve cover, runs along the side of the valve cover, crosses behind the heater valve, attaches to a bracket securing the rear heater valve nut, and then dips down to the distributor. I'm sure there are pics out there. Whitephrog has great ones. For my build, I ran it across the front of the engine and then down the side. I secured mine on the thernostat housing studs. Are any of the original type advance lines available with the "I just ate a rat" bubble in them?

Yes, this is either a Moss or VB number 163-620 it is in their MGA catalog. That is what I have, my mechanic friends and I looked at it and they said it goes around the back of the engine and the bracket for the bulb hooks on the last bolt on the manifold. You have to bend the tubing, I then came around the heat shield and straight along the carb fuel line to the front carb. It comes up about an inch and a half short and unfortunately has a screw on tip. I had been using some small (model airplane)petro resistant tubing before as the line so I finished this off with a short piece of that. Not perfect but looks pretty good.
