V-12 E-Type Body Number Location

Please tell me, where and how will I find the Body Number on a V-12 E-Type roadster (1974)?

When I say, "how" I mean is it stamped or embossed on a metal plate riveted to something (where?), or is it stamped into a body panel, etc., etc.

Thanks.

just lifted this off another forum, hope it helps..

The body number is on two silkscreen printed aluminium tags pop rivetted to the body. One is roughly behind where the rear licence plate is and its pop rivets should be visible on the vertical surface from inside the back of the boot. The other is at the bottom of the left hand winscreen pillar under the hockey stick.

These numbers are repeated as stampings on the rectangular chassis plate on the engine bulkhead together with the car number, engine and gearbox numbers.

The car number (more commonly called the chassis number or VIN) is stamped into the left hand side bulkhead under the heater box.

Some of these numbers are occasionally seen written on bits of trim on much earlier cars but this didn't seem to be common practice by the 1970s.

So would it be accurate to say simply this for the V-12 E-type?:

Chassis # location: Plate on top of right footwell box under bonnet.
Body # location: On same aluminum plate as chassis number.
Engine # location: Stamped in vee between heads at rear.

Thanks.

I would asume all e types of the same year would have there numbers stamped in the same places.
not being an e type owner i could not garantee the information i found is correct.
