Can't find the recent prior post on the above about package ping-ponging. Everglades City's post office has had neither internet nor phones since Hurricane Ian, in 9/22. X-finity, Starlink and Verizon are available, but the post office won't buy them. Thus, when a package gets to Ft. Myers or Marco Island, it falls out of computer existence and no record is created even if delivered. TEMU does automated refunds if the USPS system does not show timely delivery. Amazon refunds under those circumstances on request. Some of the less honest are rumored to be taking advantage of TEMU and Amazon. We can't buy postage, ship packages, track, or do anything else but get mail out of our PO Box or over the counter. Street delivery has never been available here. According to a recent email from our congressman, USPS Inspector General has started an investigation. So I suppose we might have regular service in 2027 when the report comes out, although everyone already knows the problem.
