MGB-GT Using MGB GT rear springs in an MGB?

My MGB has about 80K miles on it. I have a small boat I pull with the B on a regular basis. There is a slight drop when I hook up the trailer. Nothing that effects drivability. I'm thinking about changing the rear springs to GT springs. What impact would putting in GT rear springs have on drivability, etc.?
 
It's going to ride harder and have more rear chop in bumpy turns whenever the trailer isn't connected. My biggest concern would be the latter, but I drive my Bs on a lot of mountain roads where handling is important. If you aren't worried about high speed handling then you should be fine.
 
If you have converted the rear shocks to the tube type, you could possibly put on air shocks and not change the springs, if there's enough room. PJ
 
Sounds like a perfect time for an air suspension experiment
 
The GT weighs about 300 pounds more than the roadster, I would think using the GT springs will raise the butt-end and as Steve says, affect the handling adversely.
