Use of a clay bar in Paint Restoration

PROPER USE AND CARE FOR YOUR SURFACE PREPARATION CLAY BAR

Upon opening the clay bar, you will notice that it feels kind of sticky. Flatten out the bar into the palm of your hand, adjusting it so it fits snuggly into your palm.
 For best results, use the clay bar with American Shine Color Brightener instant detailer. A watery, soapy substance may also be used.

Using the detailer, spray a 2x2 foot area to be cleaned and apply Clay Bar with light pressure. You should feel slight friction. Rub firmly with an even pressure, back and forth, covering the area. Make sure you get into all the nooks and crannies.
 Note: Keep the area lubricated with the detailer while using the Clay Bar.

You will notice a light residue, simply spray and wipe off. Fold any contamination into the bar and re-use. Continue to apply until the entire vehicle is done. Put the Clay Bar back into the container for proper storage. One Clay Bar can be used on at least ten (10) vehicles.

Now you are ready for waxing! For best results, use American Shine’s Carnauba Cream Wax.

That will follow my wax removal before I polish again. I've been using these bars for years.

I'm going to need to attack my FJ40 with one of those. Never used one before, but it's calling out for some help.

Just get a good bar from a quality polish/wax company. The "lubricant" is the key to doing this right. Work in a small area, take your time and use plenty of the spray on shine to lube it up. Turn the clay inside out when it gets dirty and DO NOT use it if you drop it into any dirt. Just get a new piece and keep going.

I have no financial interest, just a satisfied customer.
