Once almost had an on-line flame war with some self-styled expert saying there could be no "military photojournalists." I left him to argue with the ether. Whadda prat.

I heard that she gave a rather inspirational talk at Photoshop World conference a few years ago.

It might be fun to write her and offer yourself as an assistant for the veteran portraits if she comes to Florida.

Been thinkin' on it. She's to be a guest speaker here in Orlando toward the end of the month. Rather than a written correspondence likely to get buried in the crowd, a twenty-second face-to-face and it's likely she would take a bit more time to listen. I know we have acquaintances in common. AAVS was a small organization, even during her later time. We'll see.

And Stacy knows Rosie Reynolds, one who "pioneered" women as photographers in Aerospace Audio Visual Service. Reynolds was shortly after my time as well, but many in that "string" of those folks in the time while AAVS existed, and later became 1st Combat Camera are all known to one another. I've found several I knew then who're now on a couple FB groups. A big contingent of 'em stayed out there where you are. The HQ used to be at Norton AFB.

A couple guys on a paid subscription forum I belong to met her at a PhotoShop Conference a few years ago where she was a guest speaker.

Have they any association with photographers in the military?

Did this happen?

No, dammit. Bit of a story, suffice it to say I've been visiting the VA and my dance card is in limbo.

She has a series running on PBS called: "AfterAction" with interviews of veterans from many of the conflicts the US has been involved in.
