Can someone help?
In Jan 1960 AN5-L/ 32300
wasdelivered to HAMBRO,Fort Worth (AH distribution center for TX?) exterior: leaf green, trim: green, hood: black, engine 9C-U-H/ 31969
In 1992 the car was exported to Germany i
n 1992. Prior to export she was registered in FL. AN5-L/32300 must have been restored before she was exported and a 1300cmÂł engine was installed (exhaust gas recycling system capped). The heating system was removed!
Does this Information ring any bells somewhere in TX or FL??
Any hint is highly appreciated.
Wolfgang

Hallo, Wolfgang. Wie geht's? -

You could contact the Sprite registrar, Rick Moses: dr.moses@verizon.net He may have a record in his registry that could help you learn who may have modified your car.
I am the keeper of the Austin-Healey BJ8 registry, and I can tell you that it isn't likely that you could get any actual records from either Texas or Florida concerning the ownership history of the car. Most states of the USA (Texas included) have purged their older vehicle registration records and no longer have them older than about 10 years. I believe Florida told me their records only go back 12 or 15 years.
It's too bad that more British car owners don't allow the registries to document their ownership of their cars. Then, it would be available for later owners who would want to know and perhaps get in touch with them for more information about the previous owners' time with the car.

Ich wĂĽnsche Ihnen viel GlĂĽck!

Hi Steve!
Thanks for the hint! I will try Dr. Moses.
You are right! I got confirmation from FL DMV that they purge all documents which are inactive over a period longer than 10 years.
For a friend of mine I'm researching the history of a Fiat Siata Barchetta and I got copies from the registration of all owners since 1940! In those days the entries were hand written!!!
I'll keep you posted!
Vielen Dank! Es sieht ja fast so aus, als könnnen wir in deutsch kommunizieren!! Kompliment!!
Fröhliche Weihnachten
Warm regards
Wolfgang
