Block sanding the 100-4. All sanding going well until I moved to the rear shroud. Won't sand. Gums my paper. Bad. What do you think? I'm suspecting poor mix of hardener to primer. Does that sound probable? What other causes possible? Do I have to remove all primer from shroud and start over?

Try some heat halogen light a foot away for a few hours or set it in the sun if possible. Best guess something didn't get mixed right. If heat doesn't cure it you will have to strip and start over.

If it won't sand its not cured and wan't mixed with enough hardener. You could try rolling the car into direct sunlight or use a heat lamp to kick it into curing but if that does not work ,it won't ever cure and your best option may be to strip it off with lacquer thinner and paper towels. If you sprayed an epoxy primer as a base and its cured fully, the lacquer thinner won't soften it. Kevin

The car is sitting in full sunlight. I'll see if that has any effect. Thanks for the quick answers. HealeyRick, I joined the Autobody Store forum. Thanks for that.

Car sat in full sun for about four hours. It will wet sand now, totally unlike before. Those uv rays must have been the difference. Our weather has been in the mid to high 90's for several weeks and the humidity has soared along with it. Not good for this type of project right now. Thanks again to you guys. This forum and the people in it are great!
