New clips and use plastic garbage bags over the cushions before trying to slide the covers over 'em.

Nice work. Now that you've got your practice, you are welcome to come by my place and do the seats in the Tunebug.

I'm told dry cleaner bags work great too

Oh yes, very nice indeed.

When you are ready to install the seat on the driver's side, I learned a little trick, some say the hard way. I always have installed the top and the bottom runner assembled to the floor at the same time (like every other car in the modern world). This makes a real pain to get the screws tightened for the bottom runner to the floor. Only can use an end wrench, a part turn at a time. Well, little did I know, that it is possible to attached the bottom runner to the floor, then turn the upper runner sideways, and slide it into the bottom runner. Then attach the seat. I kept wondering how they did it originally, as it would have held up the entire line.

BTW, when I recently did my seats (BE same color as yours), I found that the large clips were useless, and just used the small ones.

Thanks for the installation tip. I used a couple of large clips on each bottom, otherwise small ones. On the back I used the same number of each. I used the small clips to attach the front and larger clips to attach the rear because of the double layer of the vinyl.

Where did you get your cushions (foam padding pieces)? Would buying them from AH Spares make the shipping costly because they are bulkey?

Thank You

Seat foam and squab pieces came from AH Spares in the same box as the rest of the kit. Still way under domestic $$$ even with shipping.

2nd the motion about A-H Spares, good quality with the original type straw stuff for the backs.

That's where I got the stuff for my seats, I'm very happy with the product and the service.
Yes, the price was also lower even considering the steep cost of shipping.

I just sent in an inquiry to AH Spares regarding extra (matching) upholstery material for the side panels. When I get the info. I will be placing my order. I will also post the info. about the matching material.

Paul

I also bought their panel kit. Good fit on everything except the pieces on either side behind the seats. That fit was okay but not great. Needed a bit of modification around the hood frame support brackets. The panel kit comes with extra material for the two door pockets. I'm about to start the door pocket adventure tomorrow.

I am about to do my seats as well. How many of each clip will I need to do the job?

Moss Europe suggests 10 large and 28 small per seat. I used 17 large and 27 small per seat.

Gotcha, thanks. The catalog calls for that amount as well, I was just curious is that was indeed necessary. Any tricks to doing the project? I am waiting for Moss to get their covers in stock, so mid Sept. I should have my covers and starting it. Never done anything like this before, and I would like it to go smooooooth

I am about to place my order for the seat covers and pads, with AH Spares.
Regarding the extra fabric, AH Spares has told me that it is available by the meter (approx. 39+ inches) and is about 50" wide. I plan to order about 2 and a half meters.

Paul, what color are you getting?
Wondering if maybe I could tack a bit onto your order if they wouldn't add more for shipping?
