Re: Upgrading TR8 stock suspension - start with sh
The Spax shocks are better than stock, and for autocross, theyw ere the only adjustables I could get. Or so I thought. Konis were available, but they were hard to find. Now, the Koni rear single adjustables are gone for good. Back to my Spax. I have four years and about 5000 miles on them as well as a bunch of autocrosses. The rears always weaped a tiny bit of fluid from the adjusters screws, and the front inserts simply have stopped damping. The jounce on the Spax feels no better than stock (and the car needs more at both ends) and the rebound response is not real good either. Even set full stiff they are not real stiff. I have Koni SA's on my Saturn Sky Redline, and on full stiff they will dislodge your brain stem!!! I can't remember where I got them from (Rimmers, I think). Maybe I'll try to contact Spax and see what they will do for me.
So, bottom line on the shocks, before you invest in Spax shocks/struts see what else is available.

Did the factory, or the distributor step up and take care of the concerns you had?
