I have been hanging onto my iPhone SE (2nd Generation), but found I was using my phone more when on walks and for photos on the slot car layout when I was not carrying one of my mirrorless DSLRs with me. I just got it on the 17th, so yesterday was my first day getting to use it. So far I am enjoying the 14 Pro's camera.

Did you pinch in to zoom in on that picture? Reason I ask is, there seems to be more noise and jpg artifacts in the image than you'd normally see. If I do digital zoom on my iPhone 13 I get the same effect.

I'm so in awe of the slot car layout and its clever details (and total ignorance about iPhones!), an electronic "zoom-in" never entered my mind.

No, but there is a wheel to turn to on the screen to zoom. The third lens is the "telephoto" but I am still figuring out what will happen when I try things. Over time I will figure out what works well, and what doesn't. But it is much easier to get a low angle than with the OM-!.

A wheel? On an iPhone?

Thanks Doc, I am working on a few new features on the layout. Right now I am scratch building a "dunk tank" game for the amusement park. A friend gave me two rubber sharks that he thought I might like for my layout. So they are going on the roof of the game named the "Shark Tank". The idea for this came from my 11 year old granddaughter.
