UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

We were asked this morning (after a day of being on-line) to not post the photos of the restored NOJ 393 so I had to delete the thread to delete the photos. :blue: If you are one of the 135 who saw the original post, I hope you enjoyed them. I hope the photos are released for public display soon.

The text read:

Congratulations to Steve and Helen Pike!

The LeMans Healey is done and has returned to the UK. This was the car in the terrible crash at LeMans
that sold for over a million dollars about a year ago.

Steve and his wife Helen restore Healeys in Australia – they also built the copy of the Streamliner which ran
at Bonneville this summer.

Hopefully we will see this car at some venues overseas this summer!

Steve Pike is known to be a real 100S expert, so NOJ 393 has been in good hands.

Re: UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

John,

Thanks for deleting those photos (and saving me the trouble, as I was also asked this morning to delete them). You could not have known that there is a strict agreement in place for a British magazine to have an exclusive on the debut of the restored car, and only after their coverage will others be given access to photos and details for publication. The car's owner - known to me but who wishes to remain anonymous for now - has invested a huge sum in this car and he is rightfully managing its debut in the manner that he desires.

Rest assured also that HEALEY MARQUE will carry the complete story and photos as early as they are available. I'm on the case!

Re: UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

So, the owner sold the rights to publish the first pics?

Should we now call the car Kim Kardashian?

Re: UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

OK, I'll give you a hint. It looks like this:

Re: UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

John,
Did you take the pictures yourself? Is so, was there any sign or comment about exclusive rights?

Re: UPDATE: Update on a Very Expensive Healey

At least someone got the joke. I guess we're not all old codgers unaware of the current "celebrity" world..
