Well I had to remove the header bolts.move the carbs and remove the intake manifold to get just enough clearance to get the sucker out and this is what I found. It seems that a number of pieces have let go and found their way into the bowels of the gearbox. I suppose I will have to remove the gearbox to get at these parts or get creative with some sort of Mgiver magnet tool? Anyway a good excuse to change the clutch that I have been putting off. I guess a Hi Torque starter is in the cards for me as I don't think parts are still available for these old time units? I do have a spare flywheel and ring gear if I need that. It's always something!
