Update on XK150S Brake Servo

First, thanks to every one for the advice. I made the adapter plate for the servo but found I will have to drill 3 holes in the bracket and there will be a slight rotation from the original.

My son is actually doing the work on the car some 500 miles from me so i really don't have my own eyes on the matter. Also, I am not certain that the plumbing will hook up after the holes are made in the bracket with out further aleration.

So, it’s off to White Post Restorations in the morning. I asked if they will redo the bracket too and was told no. The bracket appears to have been painted black and the servo appears to have been plated? There is no paint remnant on the servo.

I really don't have any reserves about functionality or safety with the new type servo, but I just want to preserve anything worth preserving. Too bad you can't see the thing when it is installed!! I will send pictures when it comes back from WPR.

Re: Update on XK150S Brake Servo

As information is relayed over the phone to me about how things are fitting together I got some uncertain or uncomfortable feelings about the "new" servo and cylinder. The adapter plate did not mate the new servo to the bracket just like the old servo mates to the bracket. There would be some additional augmentation required to the bracket. Then, it is not clear that the hoses and lines will fit up like the old unit because there would be some slight rotation of the servo/cylinder when the new unit is mounted with the adapter plate and bracket alteration. Consequently, recognizing my mechanic (my son) will be required to be back on the LSU campus in August, time is of the essence and I don't want to waste any more with trial and error.
